The XPO-Operation department contains different modules supporting
operator and machinery. The process can run in a semi-automated
or full-automated mode.
Semi-automated
Each machine (paper machine, winder, rewinder, roll wrapping
etc.) is controlled by a special program. XP6 then gathers
information from the plant floor through controlling systems
(PLC interfaces) and presents this knowledge to the operator.
The operator verifies and adds more information like: actual
length, width, quality etc. and releases the product to the
next production step.
Fully automated
XP6 gets all information from the plant floor through controlling
systems and management systems and shows this knowledge to
the operator for monitoring purposes and exception handling.
XPO modules take control over the complete process and guide
products throughout the mill.
Result is a labeled product, ready to ship or store, including
complete production reports.
Operators only see information relevant to their task and
can concentrate on their work plans and producing paper products.
Every level of automation is possible including adding machinery
to increase efficiency and throughput. XPO modules consider
all the aspects of a production process and its product. Theyre
product driven and show information which is important to
guarantee highest throughput, best quality and order fulfillment.
Production and quality data is gathered to support other XP6
modules like management modules (XPB) or the correction planning
modules (XPP) in case of exceptions.
Additional identification modules allow tracking and handling
of conveyed paper products with automated or hand-operated
scanners using bar-code identification or RFID Tags.
XP6 uses an unique database design to guarantee the production
without delay and to make sure no data goes missing which
is essential for the management.
